Piyavate International Hospital decided to implement ISO 9001 and obtain compliance certification in 2001 to assure our customers and patients that our international hospital has a good Quality Management System in place to effectively meet customer expectations and improve performance. ISO 9001:2008 is a Quality Management System framework set by the International Organization of Standardization (ISO). Piyavate International Hospital chose to build our Quality Management System based on ISO 9001:2008 so we can manage our international hospital as a system of interrelated processes, plan those processes, identify how they relate to each other, set goals, measure the processes and make improvements.
The International Organization of Standardization (ISO) was founded in 1947 as a worldwide, industrial and commercial standard-setting, non-governmental organization with strong links to governments. It is comprised of business and quality professionals representing the national standards organizations of 158 countries. That makes it an international standard of excellence agreed upon by all those countries, including the USA, Australia and the countries of Europe.
ISO 9001 is a series of documents that define requirements for the Quality Management System Standard. ISO 9001:2008 is the current version of the Standard revised in the year 2008. This quality management system enables us to ensure customer requirements are understood and met. It helps us effectively train our employees, purchase from suppliers that provide quality products, correct problems and prevent them from happening again.
ISO 9001:2008 has enabled our international hospital to identify, develop, monitor, manage, improve, update, maintain, document and implement our quality management system and the processes that comprise it. It also helps us promote within our hospital and communicate to our personnel the the importance of quality and the need to identify and meet customer requirements as well as regulatory and statutory requirements. It helps us develop high quality, competent personnel with the right experience, education, training, skills and awareness. It enables us to identify infrastructure, building, workspace, hardware, software, utility, equipment and support service needs.
ISO means we believe you are important and that we are commited to continual improvement. It shows we want to meet your expectations of our international hospital and enhance customer and patient satisfaction. We continually review, evaluate, modify, improve, and further develop the performance of our quality management system to ensure our objectives are suitable and progress towards them measurable.
